While an English major in college, I fell in love with pottery after taking an art class. I knew then and there that I needed to follow my heart and began traveling the world in pursuit of my true passion. My love of pottery brought me to Japan where a serendipitous meeting with a master potter led to a life changing apprenticeship. I spent two years living with Keiichiroh Sato and his family learning Japanese pottery techniques and honing my craft.
My love brought me back to New York City where I continued to incorporate my world travels and Japanese training into my pottery. I continued to dream of one day sharing my art with the world. While walking in Central Park with my love, I stumbled upon The Meer, an enchanted pond hidden from the hustle and bustle of the city. It was there that The Meer was born.
The Meer strives to bring you meticulously handcrafted pottery that is inspired by my wanderlust, travels, and the geometry of New York City's architecture. I blend these elements to bring you one of a kind pieces. I encourage you to explore my process and gallery and I look forward to sharing my work with you.
